Daily Hazard Assessment
Weather Conditions:
Make sure to check the weather conditions before starting work. Inclement weather such as rain, extreme heat, or high winds can create additional risks. If the weather is unsafe, stop work until conditions improve.
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE):
Ensure you’re wearing the proper PPE before starting the job. This includes:
Hard hats
High-visibility vests or clothing
Steel-toed boots
Gloves (if required)
Safety glasses (if required)
Hearing protection (if required)
Respirators (if required)
Work Area Inspection:
Walk the site to identify any new hazards that may have appeared.
Look for any open holes, exposed rebar, trip hazards, or nearby equipment.
Ensure tools and materials are properly stored or secured to prevent falls or injuries.
2. Signing In & Out on Hammertech
Before we begin, please make sure you sign in on Hammertech for the day. This is important for keeping track of everyone on-site and ensuring compliance with safety protocols. When you finish your work for the day, please sign out as well.
Signing in and out helps us stay organized and ensures that we have an accurate record of everyone on-site in case of an emergency.
3. Safety Procedures for Today's Tasks
Tool and Equipment Safety:
Before using any tools or machinery, perform a quick check to ensure they are in good working order. Report any malfunctioning equipment to your supervisor immediately.
Lifting and Carrying:
Follow proper lifting techniques. Always bend your knees and keep your back straight to avoid back strain. If an object is too heavy to lift alone, ask for assistance or use mechanical lifting aids.
Fall Protection:
If you're working at heights, ensure your fall protection equipment is in place and secure.
Trenching & Excavation Safety:
If you're working in or around trenches, always check for proper shoring and safeguards to prevent collapses. Never enter a trench unless it's properly inspected and safe.
4. Communication & Reporting
Clear Communication:
Ensure clear communication with your team members throughout the day. Use hand signals or radios if necessary, especially if you’re working in noisy areas or near heavy machinery.
Reporting Hazards or Incidents:
If you see anything unsafe, report it immediately to your supervisor or safety officer. It's critical we address hazards as soon as they’re spotted to prevent accidents.
5. Emergency Procedures

Know the emergency contact numbers for this site. If you have any doubts, ask your supervisor for this information.
First Aid:
Familiarize yourself with the location of first aid kits, If someone gets injured, report it immediately and follow the emergency procedures.

6. Housekeeping
Keep the work area tidy at all times. Clutter can lead to slips, trips, and falls. Always clean up after yourself, store tools properly, and make sure all debris is disposed of correctly.

Concrete Trucks & Delivery Trucks:
Be aware of concrete trucks and delivery trucks entering the site through Gate 1 and Gate 3 today. These trucks may be moving quickly, and their drivers may not always see you, especially if you’re working near the gates or roads.
Safe Distance:
Always maintain a safe distance from these vehicles while they are entering or leaving the site. Be especially cautious when crossing or working in the areas where trucks are operating. If you’re unsure, ask the driver or flagman before moving.
Spotters & Signaling:
If you’re working near these vehicles, make sure you’re in communication with the truck drivers or spotters to ensure you’re visible and safe. Trucks may be backing up or maneuvering through tight spaces.
